Tyler let me borrow a CD with a Skousen talk. In a part of it he talks about honor. We honor our Bishop by doing our home teaching, fulfilling and magnifying our callings. In the same way we honor our Father in Heaven by keeping the commandments. Now think of this, the Lord's honor is his power. John 14:15. " If ye love me keep my commandments" . If we do not honor the Lord, who are we honoring? If we choose not to home teach or fulfill our callings , not only do we not honor our Father in Heaven but our Bishop also. Honor is the reward of obedience. Why am I relating this to our Bishop, because he was publically disrespected in a Sunday school class. It was unthinkable. Yet how often do we disrespect the Lord.
I also have been pondering the reality of the Savior. Imagine being alive during the ministry of the Savior and sitting at his feet listening to his teachings. Imagine feeling something powerful and not knowing why. Imagine sitting with Mary his mother and hearing her story and finding out who Jesus really is. Not just a prophet or a great teacher, but the literal Son of God. He came to earth, the greatest of all to redeem us all.
